The Midwest Climate Collaborative and the Science Education Resource Center are excited to relaunch the Midwest Educator Community of Practice (MCC ECOP)! We have invited Climate Generation, a trusted non-profit based in Minneapolis, to facilitate a series of virtual workshops, working groups, and online engagement opportunities from September 2024 through April 2025. You can opt into one month or all! Check out the schedule of events below. We hope to see you there.

We are very excited to rejoin the MCC ECOP this year. Climate Generation has been leading professional development and community organizing for climate change education and action since 2006. Our experience in supporting decentralized, diverse networks to support climate change leaders will be a great addition to the Midwest Climate Collaborative.
We have put together a series of opportunities for you that revolve around 4 key themes related to current events and climate change education. There will be a workshop and a working group meeting for each theme with some asynchronous engagement opportunities in between. We encourage you to sign up for all the events within a theme to get the full experience. We will explore each theme through a workshop the first month and deepen our knowledge in working groups with a discussion based on the topics covered in the workshop the following month. Over the course of the year, we will gather and integrate attendee feedback to plan activities at these events.

We will conclude with an in-person gathering at the 2025 Midwest Climate Summit for a chance to connect with educators across the Midwest. This summit will be held April 30 – May 2nd 2025 in Madison, WI.
