Moderator - Science and Research Workshop

Graham Family Director of the University of Michigan’s Graham Sustainability Institute and professor, Jennifer Haverkamp will be the moderator for the Science and Research Workshop of Summit Session 5 on November 20, at 10am central time.

Jennifer Haverkamp’s Biography

Jennifer Haverkamp is the Graham Family Director of the University of Michigan’s Graham Sustainability Institute, and a professor from practice at Michigan Law School and the Ford School of Public Policy. Under her leadership, the Institute works to bring together the expertise of U-M faculty and students with the knowledge and needs of off-campus partners to solve sustainability challenges on all scales, from the local to the global.  She co-chairs the U-M President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality, and oversees the Graham Institute’s new faculty research program on carbon neutrality.  

Jennifer holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, a Masters in Politics and Philosophy from Oxford University, and an undergraduate degree in Biology from the College of Wooster.  Prior to her appointment at UMich in 2018, she held several senior positions in the US Government, most recently as the State Department’s Ambassador and Special Representative for Environment and Water Resources, and directed Environmental Defense Fund’s International Climate Program.  

Jennifer serves on the Science and Research sub-committee for the Midwest Climate Summit.
